BRIAN JONES: A TRIBUTE by Keith Adagio

Reposted from my friendster blog

I dedicate this blog to the memory of the late great Brian Jones, leader and founder of the Rolling Stones, one of my favorite bands and one of the greatest besides the Beatles. One of the great musicians I admire and idolized. Brian Jones was born in Cheltenhamshire,England on February 28,1942.He founded the Rolling Stones, gave the band its name and direction in the sixties and was considered by critics to be the closest rival to the Beatles though there werent any competition, for both bands were very good friends.

Brian could actually play any instrument and it was very obvious right away that he is the most striking and most talented member of the group. He died at a very young age of 27 when his body was found on his swimming pool on July 3,1969.The cause of death was drowning due to drug related activities.Even after his death, the Rolling Stones carried on through the seventies, eighties, nineties and up to the present being billed as one of the greatest rock n’roll bands in the world.

Brian wherever you are,I want you to know that you have a very strong impact on me though you died  years before I was born.I admire you a lot and you’re one of my idols,no musician today has ever equalled the talent and intelligence that you have.I started admiring you when I was a little boy by seeing the Under My Thumb video clip featuring you playing the marimba. You’re the epitome of cool. This page is for you,Brian.
