The Who were known to be the destroyers of expensive hardware along with the eccentric antics of its drummer Keith Moon and the windmill style of its guitarist Pete Townshend,thus started the trend of smashing guitars and blowing up the stage with pyrotechnics that was followed later on by bands such as Nirvana,Kiss and the Smashing Pumpkins.Moon died in 1978 following an overdose on sleeping pills,he was replaced by Kenny Jones of the Faces until 1982 when Townshend decided to break up the group as a touring act.Bass player John Entwistle died in 2002 during their US tour.The Who is one of the most influential rock groups the world has ever known.
